In reality, students must have a 2.0 GPA or higher to be able to participate in a sport. Therefore sports can actually benefit a student who wouldn't care about their grades in the first place.
In addition, students involved in sports learn valuable lessons like how to manage their time more wisely since, two to four hours are spent on games and practices every school day, athletes have no choice but to be responsible of time spent which are skills essential in both college and life. Being part of a team that goes through the same obstacles with the same dedication and commitment, athletes are provided a unique group in which they learn how to work together to achieve success. The athletes end up learning the value of hard work, perseverance, dedication, and teamwork which will ultimately benefit them in their work and lives.
