High School Advice

There is lots of advice I would give to an eighth grader considering high school will be some of the worst and best years of your life. I would say my most important three pieces of advice are that high school isn't really that great, friends will change, and the whole upperclassmen will hate you thing is not true.

What I mean by high school not being that great is the classes are basically the same now it's just building on what you already know and it gets harder obviously. You are allowed more freedom but with freedom comes trust and if you aren't trusted by your parents or whoever you live with giving you the freedom you will not be allowed to do as much as before. You may not even be able to hangout with someone you really like because

You may have one or two of the same friends from middle school but most likely not all of them. You will realize you don’t like a person for something they say or even just not want to hang out with them anymore because they do not want the same things in life as you. You will find it’s easier to let relationships go if that person isn’t treating you right because you just don’t have time to deal with it.

One very stereotypical thing about high school is that upperclassmen will hate yopu and be rude to you. You will not actually get shoved into a locker so stop spending time in middle school seeing if you will actually fit into a locker and if someone will come and get you out because I promise you WILL NOT need it. What will actually happen is that you will have friends in every grade from sports, someone in one of your electives, or a club you are in after school like, SWAT, book club, and many more. They might make fun of you for being a freshman or sophomore but they won't actually mean it.

That is my advice for an eighth grader I wish I would have had this advice going into highschool to look back on in the situation. I know some may not think any of this means anything but I promise it will you will find out sooner or later. Hopefully not

High school also intimidated me as I made the transformation from “big man on campus” in eighth grade to a young and vulnerable 9th graders. Freshman Survival Now that you passed middle school and about to attend your first year of high school as a freshman, there are some things you need to know before going to the major classes. One thing is that ninth grade is sort of like eighth grade, but as the year progresses there are different concepts that are new to you. Don't worry, you're not the only one; other ninth graders are confused with this too, so you should probably ask. Another thing is that you must be prepared at all times when you walk into a classroom and, when the bell rings, class starts. During your first week of high school, teachers usually give you a paper saying what you need throughout the year.…
