In the school cafeteria all the high school and homeschool students were getting ready for a elegant dinner. Hair was getting done, makeup being applied, and dresses being tried on. No one was wasting any time. Girls were whispering, laughing, and some even crying. Anxiety grew with each moment that passed.
Callie was sitting at a table, facing the closed cafeteria doors when she noticed a guy looking through the window. Tianna nudged her and raised her eyebrows. “He’s looking at you, you know?” Tianna teased, making her friend blush.
The two girls watched the window until the young man walked away. Tianna stood up and drug Callie to the side of the cafeteria and brought over a dress. “This one’s yours,” she said, pushing the dress into Callie’s

“Come on, Cal, we only have half an hour to get you completely ready. So you should probably just put the dress on.”
“Fine. But only because I don't see mine up there. Now, will you go find some shoes to match. I only have my teal ones.”
“I’ll do that, just hurry up. I don’t want you to be late.” And with that, Tianna walked away, leaving Callie to herself.
She reluctantly slipped into the dress and studied her reflection in the mirror leaning on the wall. Her straight, red hair flowed down her shoulders brushing the top of the dress: a straight, chiffon dress with an empire waist. The purple color complimented her pale skin tone and blue eyes. As she continued to look at herself, she wondered who had replaced her dress with this one. It didn’t follow the guidelines of the homeschool leaders, but she loved the way it fit her perfectly. Someone obviously knew her size or the guess was just very lucky.
Walking away from her reflection, Callie saw Mrs. Ableton strolling up behind her. “I hope you enjoy your dinner, Callie.” She stepped closer, “And don’t get yourself into anything that will cause trouble.” Finishing, Mrs. Ableton gave her a quick squeeze and left to join the rest of the
