My best friends, Ariana and Ashton were walking with me to my house on 27th main street. I lived a few blocks away from our highschool were we just after thirteen years of school, we finally graduated. "I can't believe you're going to away for the whole summer!", Ariana exclaimed. Ashton hugged me slightly, "Yeah, we're gonna be bored!", Ashton said. I said,"Well I stay with my father every summer, so...I have to go." We stopped on the corner of my blocks, and walked to my house. "Well you don't have to go, you can stay with your mother!", Ashton pleaded. I laughed and said,"Ash. I'm sorry." We all hugged, like we do every summer before I leave for the summer. "Would y'all like to come with my mom and I to the airport!", I said. Ariana

Growing up I was always the tallest kid in the class. Whenever class picture day rolled around, I knew that I was in the front of the line because of my height. It was somewhat embarrassing when all the boys were shorter than I, and the girls made me feel bad for how out of place I was. Not only did my height provide social awkwardness, it also administered the constant, never ending struggle of finding garments long enough. Whenever my mom or grandmothers wanted to take me back to school shopping, I made excuses of “I don’t need any more habiliments” or “I do not feel good, all of the sudden…”…

My high school experience at High Point High School began as frustrating then it became positive. Being academically independent, since elementary school, I did not feel that high school was going to be a major difference, but I did not take into consideration of a new ambiance with new challenges. One thing that remained the same was the fact that I was always reserved and I stayed to myself. I thought that in high school I was going to be able to leave my shell and be more outgoing. Narrative Essay About a month before the end of 7th grade, my mom walked up to me and asked if I wanted to go to a magnet school, this is a school that offers higher level classes with a more problem solving based directive. Now, at this point middle school had been kind of a bore; there was not much to do in middle school, so naturally I agreed without thinking. The classes I would be taking would be with the same group of students throughout the day, no intermingling. The brochure and further information made the school sound great, “rigorous course work”, “Hands on activities”, the like. It was a bit misleading though, this school was just an average school with average people.…
