The policy “The Assisted Living Services for High Risk Seniors Policy” was introduced in January 2011 and was updated in 2012. It was developed to address the needs of the high risk seniors that are living at home and requires assistance at any time. The policy aims to target the high risk senior population who are not able to meet the cost of a home and community care services. Also it aims to promote wellness and improve the health of the senior population by providing them with a service that allows them to live in the community with a power of being independent.
