High Noon Movie Comparison

When you are stuck in a difficult situation, you can always find a source of help, whether it is advice from a person or maybe even the Internet. In the end, multiple solutions to resolve the problem are found. Both the film High Noon and the short story "The Most Dangerous Game" happen to not have this in common with you, but they have that in common with each other. High Noon is a film that takes place in a small town, but the people are not very helpful when the time comes. Although, "The Most Danegrous Game" takes place on an island with very few people, those people become the problem, instead of the help. In fact, these two works have a handful of other things in common, but they have quite a few differences as well. To start a great list of differences, the main characters of this story, although found in a similar situation, handle things quite differently. In both the film High Noon and the short story "The Most Dangerous Game", once the main characters get stuck in the situation, there is no escaping it and they have to face it. Amy, Kane's wife, tells Kane "If you won't go with me now—I'll be on that train when it leaves here" (Foreman 296). Kane has multiple chances to leave, but once those chances leave, he is stranded. Rainsford asks General Zaroff, who he is being held captive to, "I wish...today" (Connell 225). Once Zaroff declines his offer, he is stranded in an isolated area until the end of the game.
