High Ethical Standards

Ethics are important in all aspects of life. Telling the truth is one of the most important standard ethics. Whether it’s your job or any action in your life, you need to tell the truth. Knese says, “You can give away your good name only once. Once it’s gone, you never get it back. So choose carefully.” This caught my attention because it is a main point that many people do not believe in today. Truth is one of the biggest relationship builders, when someone lies to me, I always wonder if they are going to tell the truth the next time; I will always second guess what they tell me. Even though decisions are not entirely ‘Black and White’, decisions in between black and white lead you toward the two main decision. This caught my attention because I believe every decision has a right and wrong or black and white. It may be the littlest decisions or ones that don’t seem to affect anything, but they do move you toward the ethically right or wrong decision. I believe there is no ‘gray’ because every action is right or wrong. Everyone should have high ethical standards. If you have high ethical standards and believe in yourself, you will be able to accomplish almost anything in life. On my way out from the movie, I found a mans wallet on the ground. I did the ethically right thing by turning it into the front desk and let them take it form there. Although I did the right thing by turning the wallet in, if I could do it again I would have tried to contact him personally. I would have changed my actions because I would’ve liked to know that he got all of his belongings back. Having this personal satisfaction would’ve let me know I completely did the right ethical thing since I never knew if he received his
