To get their blood pressure down some young people have to use medication to regulate and deal with their elevated blood pressure levels. When talking about high blood pressure in young people you might think, how can young people without as much responsibility as adults have such a life changing and life threatening condition. Taking medication for high blood pressure for youths can be difficult. If parents are too busy working, children might forget, or miss use their medications. When the doctors tell you that your child has high blood pressure they write down different of pills that they recommend you take. The first pill that they start you off with is the diuretics pill. These medications, also known as water pills, act on your child's kidneys to help your child eliminate sodium and water, reducing blood pressure. If the diuretic pill does not work they recommend you use beta blockers. These medications reduce the workload on your child's heart, causing it to beat slower and with less force.
