Ms. Dawn Loren, Director of Human Resources and Risk Management, stated there would be presentations made by the two executive search firms for the recruitment for the position of Town Manager. Mr. W.D. Higginbotham Jr. would be presenting for the Mercer Group and Mr. Doug Thomas for Strategic Government Resources.
Mr. Higginbotham Jr. gave a brief review of the Mercer Group proposal to the Town. He explained the seven step process which included position analysis, recruitment process, resume review, candidate screening, background investigation, interview process, negotiation and follow-up. The process would take approximately eleven to twelve weeks. Mr. Higginbotham Jr. stated Mercer Group makes ten guarantees which consisted of continuing

Thomas gave a brief review of Strategic Government Resources background. He stated the firm was more than a recruiting firm. He highlighted the keys to a successful search which encompassed understanding the culture needs and desires of the organization. He stated social media has become the most way to market positions and which the firm would provide. Mr. Thomas explained part of the process included video recorded interviews with three to four questions and three to four minutes for answers. He noted the timeline for the process would be twelve weeks.
Mayor Wodraska asked if he was familiar with someone from the private sector becoming a Town Manager. Mr. Thomas stated certainly, but he had been involved in the recruitment and the vast majority comes from local government and the military.
Dr. Stefan Harzen, resident of Stonewood Court, hoped the Town would allow public input for the selection of the next Town Manager and not keep it within the selection committee.
Mayor Wodraska asked Ms. Loren which firm ranked the highest with the selection group.
Ms. Loren stated Strategic Government Resources ranked number one with Mercer Group as number two.
Councilor Kaufer asked if Council would be making a decision on firm or was there time to discuss
