The terms structure and direction can seem overwhelming and difficult to understand, but when trying to comprehend certain issues, events, or ideas, those terms can help in the distinguishing between right and wrong. Structure and direction can also help in understanding how some things are the way they are and how they got that way. Everyone can have their own ideas of how structure and direction apply to certain issues also, which sometimes allows for disagreement. Using my own interpretation of structure and direction, as well as some help from Albert M. The care planning meeting revolved around an 11 year old named, Katy, who was/is subject to care order. The rules around contact with Katy had been made very explicit to Katy’s mother and her Aunt, at the time of the care order being made. However upon receiving the case I learned that Katy had been having unsupervised contact with both her mother and her Aunt, as a result of a lack of adherence to the care order by Katy’s foster carers. As a result Katy had been moved from her previous foster carers to new residential home. Various HMO models (Staff, Group, & Network) Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) have been around since the 20th century. They were not made to operate as they do currently in today’s world until the Health Maintenance Organization Act of 1973 set federal rules on how the operations of HMO should be conducted. HMO’s have various models, but despite the model, in each HMO, the employer pays the monthly premium for the HMO service, which reduces the overhead for employees seeking medical help. High patient to nurse ratios takes away with the nurse communicating with the patient and family effectively and developing trust. Relieving patient fear and anxiety can be a challenge when the nurse has less time to spend with the patient because of increased patient load. Complex health care arrangements include a variety of arrangements within health care organizations to help them survive the economic constraints placed upon them by the public and the government. The consumer demands increased quality and decreased cost. Government organizations such as Medicare and Medicaid are demanding a bigger bang for the buck. There are several business principles related to patient and system costs in health care that are needed to maintain safe, quality, patient-centered care that is fiscally sound. For this discussion, I will put myself in the shoes of a nurse manager, director of nursing, Chief Nursing Officer, or business owner and consider three of the principles from the Greg Fisher Power Point (2008). One opportunity I observed with information presented in this week’s Learning Resources was that of Systematic Observation and Note taking where the teacher does give an allotted time for play, approximately thirty minutes, but when the children are not able to go outside, she gives forty to forty-five minutes, as long as the children are playing nicely with one another. The Margaret Esherick House and the poem “Order Is”1 are both considered famous works by the renowned architect Louis I Kahn, however, the ideas put forth by each respective work seem to contradict each other as well as some of his principles. There are several instances where we can see that the ideas seen in his construction do not accurately reflect his ideas and instead go against them. It is these clashing principles that have prevented the Margaret Esherick House from achieving its full masterful potential. “Order is” describes the process of design with an order. Level of the health care system involved Certainly there are benefits associated with AC, but the risks and damages are more concerning. There is an immediate need to control and reduce these risks and damages with three levels of health care system involvement: local, federal/territories, and federal. Firstly, the damage control and risk reduction should start locally. One way of getting the public to adopt a healthy lifestyle and improve their health is through health promotion. Health promotion is defined by Tones and Green (2004) as; the process of enabling people and communities and giving them more control over their health and its determinants, thereby improving their health with the individual’s involvement.
