Rich Eisenauer, my former Sunday School teacher of two years, is my adult fan. For the past few years, Mr. E has been much more of a Sunday School teacher to me; he has been a mentor and father figure who has helped me overcome some of my biggest challenged. He is someone who I have talked to about almost everything, and as a result, acquired a profound understanding of my character. When prompted with the task to meet with an adult who knows me well and understands the way I think, I immediately knew that Mr. E was the best person to help me with the interview. Eisenauer has a good understanding of the way I interact with people. He was correct when he said that I’m cautious and have to have a read on people. However, once I trust someone I’m loving, loyal, and will do anything for them. I am grateful that people are able to see those latter qualities. Finally, I told Mr. Eisenauer my top five strengths; achiever, futuristic, maximizer, intellection, and command. He agreed with the order of the first three, but thought that command should be higher on the list. This is because I step up to challenges (like when lifeguarding) and I present myself in a way of confidence. He also included that most people do not know that I’m futuristic, that I keep it quiet except with people whom I trust.
Speaking to Mr. Eisenauer taught me the way other people perceive me. From our meeting I learned that when people characterize me, they see achiever and command. That makes sense considering that futuristic, maximizer, and intellection are my strengths which occur “below the surface.” Meaning, they take place in my mine and are expressed when I achieve or command. The most significant information that my meeting provided me with was the fact that my analytical strengths are unnoticeable, but work to make me the achiever and commander whom people perceive me to
