There can be many hidden messages in Gothic Literature ,but one will always see one that stands out the most. They are usually mostly of death relating. Many clues given can make a person think of why the story was written. Sometimes it's hard to believe that one has its time where you will no longer be present. The short story “ The Masque of the Red Death” Prince Prospero tries to get away from the disease that is going on. So he hides in his abbey along with several other people. In Poe’s short story “ The Masque of the Red Death” the hidden message is that no matter what you do to hide from death it will always find you because we are all born to die.
