The role of the police officer as a member of the community is important, as they must adapt to a variety of situations. CAP was founded on December 1, 1941, just six days before the infamous attack on Pearl Harbor. CAP is comprised of volunteers who have a deep love of aviation and their country. When veterans come home after war, they bring a lot of baggage with them. The way society treats veterans and the kind of medical or mental treatment they receive will help them to deal with that baggage and learn how to adapt to society.
