Hi Leandro,

Do you remember me? Sorry I haven't written sooner. It has been two years since we last met at the music presentation.

I've been really busy in a good way - and a bad too. I stopped with guitar classes because I haven't had time to do work of school, study and practice. It's sad but now I have more time. Next year I'll be in a high school. I'm anxious!

Have you continued with the guitar classes? Do you still like surf? Have you bought a new videogame?

I'd be great to meet up sometime. I really miss you!

Best wishes,

Gih Junker

There was once an individual, young of body, old of soul, and not-quite-human, despite how she may appear. She was, In fact, a Druid, a sorceress of days olde and knew of the last of her kind. She walked the world on her own, distant from all; for what can one lose if they have nothing to begin with? This was a mantra she repeated to herself across the centuries, for this seemingly young woman was anything but.…

The piercing fear in her eyes struck me hard. She was in a complete and utter state of panic, trembling uncontrollably and gasping for air. A tear fell softly from her eye and onto her hand which was throbbing and purple from the tight grip on her wheelchair. I knew I had an obligation to help her as a volunteer in the nursing home, but I wasn’t sure how I could connect to her or understand the cause of her distress -- she didn’t speak any English. Almost instinctively, I grabbed Bergita's hands and locked in on her eyes.…

October 12th. The day that I,Heather Kubel, a freshman at Sierra Lutheran High School, would have embedded in my memory forever.
