Hi Doug, I also found both the formal entry and the psychological entry portions of entering into an organization to be very interesting. A lot takes place during the formal entry, like meeting with consultees, learning about the organization, discovering the needs and desired outcomes of the organization, and working out logistics of the consulting process (Brown, Pryzwansky, & Schulte, 2011). I also like the advice Brown et al. (2011) offer about writing a letter outlining the agreement that the consultant and consultee(s) reach regarding the consultation process, if a contract is not used.
