Finding a good horror movie is a lot like shucking oysters in search of a pearl; one must weed through disgusting and disappointing messes until a true treasure is discovered. Unfortunately, Scott Derrickson’s Sinister is more of a mess than it is a pearl. It’s rare to find a film that makes you sit in awe ten minutes after it’s over, but that’s the state you would’ve found me in after “Short Term 12” had ended. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a drama film that I, and many others I’m sure, could relate to. It covered real-life situations and lessons that viewers could, not only understand, but also learn from and take away meaningful guidance. I definitely turned off Netflix with a feeling of warmth and content. Overall, I found the film to be realistic, relatable, and so enjoyable to watch.…

Even though these two reviews on “Casablanca” are from two different time periods they both analyzed the movie in a very good way. The reviews from the time that the movie came out and more recent ones are very different but very similar at the same time. Some things that were similar in these reviews was that they both talk about how they chose the perfect people to play Rick and Ilsa. They also both say that the dialogue was great. Some of the differences in these two movie reviews was that the old one is saying how the movie is exiting and the newer one is saying how nothing could make it exciting.…

For my film analysis, I chose to analyze the movie “The Outsiders” directed by Francis Ford Coppola and based on the novel “The Outsiders” by S. E. Hinton. In this movie, a gang of outcasts from the north side of town called the Greasers are always fighting against a rival group called the Socials, who are the rich jocks from the south side of town. The story follows two young Greasers, Johnny and Ponyboy, who aren’t like the others. These two see that fighting is pointless, but it’s just the way they live their life. The two boys get into a fight with some Socials and end up killing one.…

This proves the character to be very cautious and attentive. One example in particular that stands out is when the narrator accidently wakes the old man, and says, “For a whole hour I did not move a muscle, and I did not hear him lay down. He was still sitting-up; listening” (Poe105). This quote proves the killer to be very attentive.…
