Hey Leeli Why The Bible Is An Inerrant?

Decent Essays
Hey Leelia, I really enjoyed reading your thread, especially the way you included your personal experiences. I would have to agree with you that it is very hard explaining to a non-believer that the Bible is inerrant, and a lot of times we do not know where to start. I have found that if you ask a person why they truly feel the way that they do first, then it will give you a better understanding of why that person feels the way that they do. Then, from there you will be able to explain to them why the Bible is inerrant, based off their perspective. I pray that God will continue to bless you in this 8 week course with a fresh understanding of his will, and purpose in your

An important habit to notice about Sewall in his writing, is that he tended to manipulate the context of Bible verses, taking most of the verses at face value or ignoring their significance completely. A good start is the first Bible verse Sewall used in favor of his first answer; African Americans are descendants of Cush not Cham, Psalm 68:31 “Envoys will come from Egypt; Cush will submit herself to God.” There is no logical way, within the context of the verse, to support his first answer with Psalm 68:31. Yes, the verse mentions a people group emerging from Cush, now Ethiopia, to unite under Gods’ banner but it doesn’t show that ‘Black Men’ are from Cush. A whole part of Sewalls’ argument rested on his statement that “the Blackmores are…

Most Christians have at times experienced a “crisis of faith” due to new contrasting ideals that may provoke questions (Carroll, 409). Entering college for the first time is a vulnerable time for anyone who has been brought up all their life to think and believe as they are told. College freshman, Alfred Corn, was experiencing this unfortunate crisis. (Carroll, 409) The knowledge we individually obtain throughout our livelihood constantly evolves and adapts to new information and experiences, unfortunately learning too much at times makes us question our current standing beliefs.…

Firstly, John Steinbeck is an agnostic through and through so why does he think that he can redefine the bible? Secondly, he uses worst version of the bible to compare, no one likes the ASV because it is inaccurate. Thirdly, in hebrew they do not use special pronouns; therefore, all of the possible translation Steinbeck offers are in invalid. However, the best option Steinbeck offered is for sure thou shalt. After 2 and a half hours of translating hebrew and greek text and also double checking bible commentaries I found that the promise thou shalt would be the most correct.…

Tripp Atkinso, I enjoyed reading your post on Powlison’s (2010) three epistemological priorities (p.278). I have to agree with you on the idea that the scriptures are central in any Christian education, otherwise, as you point out, there really is not anything “Christian” about it. Powlison (2010) says that “Scripture redefines how we tend to define ‘counseling’” (p. 278). But of course, it is not just counseling that the Bible redefines, it is every aspect of human life.…

For Christians, the Bible is the ultimate standard by which truth, worldview, right, and wrong are determined. The idea that biblical truth can be communicated, and for some, better understood in a work of fiction may seems ludicrous, but even the Bible recognizes this as a fact. Throughout the God’s Word parables and other stories are used to convict people and communicate principles. By having a different perspective, often achieve through a story, it can become easier to determine right from wrong. In this way a story can be used to help people recognize wrong that they are trying to hide, justify, or ignore.…
