As products of Hexagon allow for a great precision in their measurement offering, the company is gaining it access to the composite manufacturing market which is a new and developing market allowing the company to expand the operations and grow business and in competitive advantage to make advances in technology. To take advantage of its expertise, Hexagon is lunching its new product that allows to provide scanning virtually any surfaces with great precision, measuring including shiny and variable composite surfaces. Disadvantage for Hexagon can be a cost of a product in certain regions and competition in regions of established manufacturing. Conventional laser scanners have difficulty scanning shiny machined surfaces as laser bean get scattered on those surfaces, disorienting the sensor while it is recording the position of the surface.
