Hester's The Scarlett Letter

The book Scarlet Letter is about a woman, Hester, who cheats on her husband Roger and has an affair. She conceives a daughter with Dimmesdale and Roger gets upset, driving him to leave Hester. Roger, Hester, and Dimmesdale keep it secret, however, because if the community was to find out that Hester sinned, they would all be put on life sentence in prison. Dimmesdale flees to Florida in attempt to move on from his crime. Hester tells the city about her crime, keeping Dimmesdale unknown.
