In Puritan times, crime and punishment were very severe; to do wrong once could lead to death. The definition of human nature is being able to make mistakes and come back from them, Michael Jackson and Hester Prynne share similar struggles in the way that they both were publicly expulsed from society for simply living their lives. In the article created by a mental health organization, it states,"Judging someone can have similar effects to other forms of discrimination. People describe feeling isolated, ashamed, misunderstood, criticised and, demeaned. Judging can also result in people being less likely to talk about what they’re going through and ask for the help they need."(https://goo.gl/gs6FiE ). We fail to see outside of our own conclusions which can lead to harmful repercussions.
