Throughout the nation, people are going crazy for a Chocolate and Peanut Butter candy. For over 80 years people have been favoring Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Although many people did not know, Reese’s Cups has a long and very interesting history. It all started with the dreams of a man named Harry Burnett Reese, Aka: H.B. Reese.

Reese’s dream all got started when H.B. Reese decided to run a candy store. He was struggling to find a job in around the 1930s. After looking for jobs, he found himself working at a dairy in the town of Hershey, Pennsylvania. Reese’s saw that the chocolate company Hershey's was selling hundreds of pounds of chocolate each day, and he decided to try his luck selling candy. In the basement of his house he started making chocolate covered nuts and other varieties of candy. His business was called R & R, as he was selling more and more candies he expanded his workshop to a factory. In around 1930 Reese started making Reese’s Peanut Butter cups. All around the country Reese’s cups were sold at grocery stores for one, three, and five cent cups. He made them out of real peanut butter and chocolate, today the ingredients are much different. One man states “Too bad Hershey’s has cut corners with their peanut butter cups, adding filler to the very small amount of peanut butter still present. The milk chocolate isn’t quite the same as it used to be, either.” (Rod Labbe, 2015)
