The hero is taken out of their ordinary world and enter a new world filled with adventure. In other words, the hero is to be removed from their typical environment to quest upon a journey. In Campbell’s book, he explains that the call to adventure “reveals an unsuspected world, and the individual is drawn into a relationship with forces that are not rightly understood” (Campbell 51).The adventure is were the hero finds themselves. For instance, Tris takes an aptitude test to determine which faction she belongs to, but in the end she is free to make her own decision. she has three results abnegation, erudite, and dauntless making her choice difficult. Tris later discover she is Divergent, which is someone fits into more than one faction. When someone is Divergent, the government is unable to control their thoughts and actions, which is why it is dangerous and could become factionless. At the choosing ceremony it is difficult for Tris to make her final decision, she knows she cannot choose Erudite because she does not believe in their actions, and she cannot choose Abnegation either because she feels she does not fit in.
