“Heroes represent the best of ourselves, respecting that we are human beings. A hero can be anyone from Gandhi to your classroom teacher, anyone who can show courage when faced with a problem. A hero is someone who is willing to help others in his or her best capacity.” -Ricky Martin- Having the courage to solve problems or having the mindset to help someone, takes part in defining someone as a hero. Heroes can be everyday citizens that face challenges for the well being of others because they want to see a change in the way they are running their lives or the way things are happening around them.
Heroes can be everyday people with the mindset to help others. Throughout their journey, they develop fears that might later become their challenges.

Jennifer Lawrence, a 27 year old actress and feminist leads many young girls and boys by her most popular role as Katniss Everdeen in the “Hunger Games” movies. She has a foundation called the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation that raises money to donate to many charities including the Kids Cancer Alliance, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the St. Mary’s Center. She shows people of any age the path that they can take to change the lives of struggling children or civilians. Since she is very influential towards people because of being candid, she has people that look up to her and want to be like her when they grow up because they see her success. She empowers women of all ages by saying that they too can accomplish whatever their hearts desire. Another example of a hero is Beatrice “Tris” Prior of the Divergent Series by Veronica Roth. Tris is a fictional character that struggles through many challenges emotionally and physically. In the series, she believes that she doesn’t belong in her home of Abnegation, a place where people are selfless and put others before themselves. So, she joins Dauntless where she learns about bravery and along the way picks up some knowledge on how to be selfless. She protects people with the combat skills she possesses even though she put her life at risk. She loses her family along the way and has to learn to face challenges that involve them not being with her. She is a hero because she saved the people of her faction because she did not want them getting hurt by a problem that she could easily fix. Even though, some people have it in them to continue to do good others believe they are benefiting lives even though they are destroying
