True or false: Heroes are individuals who do good deeds. The answer is false. Heroes are not just people who do good, but people who sacrifice their own well being to benefit someone else in need. Stereotypically, Heroes are are strong, humorous, or even charismatic people. However, they do not have to be. Heroes can be people who stand strong for what they believe in, even if everyone is against them. Heroes have integrity and fight for what is right. Heroes are brave in the face of danger, they protect people in need and are never slow thinking yet jaunting toward an opportunity.

Like Abraham Lincoln, Welles Crowther, protected many people who were unable to help themselves. Crowther was a worker in the south tower in the New York trade center. September 11, 2001, Crowther saved people from the New York Trade Center by being brave and setting his own well being aside. “ ...he could’ve gone back up gone downstairs with the rest of us.. But he went back up” Said Ling Young in the memorial video, ‘The Man In The Red Bandana’. Not only did Crowther sacrifice, but he lost his life in the process. Heroism is putting others before yourself, despite the cost. Heroes are selfless in their daily lives and are required to be brave. In the poem a man, a soldier lost his arm. At first, the man in the poem was quite reluctant at the thought of only doing things by halves.
