Heroism In The Killers

So far in “the killers” our friends george, nick and sam have found themselves in the middle of an odd conspiracy, the murder of ole anderson a member of their town. Though the intention is unclear, they were held at gunpoint for what was an hour. Luckily, no casualties had been met after this standoff. But our friends had a decision of telling ole anderson about the attempt on his life, or like sam suggested stay as far away from it as possible. Nick following george's advice decides to head over to ole anderson's house only to see that he had no care about the attempt, and that he has a personally more pressing issue, where he would go that same night. Throughout the story you are meant to feel omniscient, in the story we are being taken on the backseat of the ride entitled assassination. But at that in the story there doesnt seems to be a hero in the midst. …show more content…
Since there is no act of heroism, except the fact that he was willing to tell ole anderson about the assassination despite what sam warns them about in this moment. Nick in this moment is walking the grayest area since black and white television. unlike our traditional hero nick seems almost unaffected by the situation. The story almost reveals the insaciable need to want things to be or to go back to normal. The previous can be explained with the following line that is the literal end of our story “well,” said george, “you better not think about it.” whoch represents the thinking of the man wo had wdvised on telling ole anderson.
