The function of heroism in society is to be extraordinary in an ordinary world, bringing that little extra into the picture to save mankind from itself. This takes loads of dedication. Someone who is moral is concerned about the goodness and badness of human behavior. Vincent Ardolino is definitely a moral man. He was quoted saying “I was compelled, because I’m the type of person that can’t stand by and watch other people suffer” (1) after the 9/11 tragedy in a film called “Boatlift the Untold Story”. Vincent Ardolino saw what was happening on TV and he couldn’t stand by and watch innocent people suffer, so he took his boat to Manhattan and was one of the many boats that responded and saved hundreds of thousands of people. Another illustration of a moral person is Malala Yousafzai. Malala is concerned about girls not getting an education; she sticks up for them, even if it means putting herself in danger.
