Heroism In Julius Caesar

Heroism is a very debatable topic in this day and age, I often find myself thinking, what truly does make a hero? I believe that in Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, Caesar himself displays the most hero-like qualities, above all the other characters. I understand that that seems likes a very bold statement to make, so to prove it, I’ll have to answer the question I asked from before, what makes a hero?
In my opinion there are three distinct qualities that make up a true hero. The first is respect, all heros are respected by the people, and even sometimes revered as idols. The second you can call whatever you’d like, bravery, courage, really all this one comes down to is the accomplishment of great feats. Finally, the last one, and debatably the

We witness this one in the story as we see Caesar when he dies, though that one moment might not have seemed like much, what it stood for was of great significance. Before he died he had been warned many times to not go to the senate on the ides of march, for that would be his grave mistake. He was warned by the soothsayer, Calphurnia, and Artemidorus, however he still went, but why? Was he a fool? Was he overconfident? Was he ignorant? Neigh! He did it because he had to. Caesar was always viewed as a strong man, and being the leader of a nation, he had to, for Rome to be seen as strong as well. A country is only as strong as its leader, and for Caesar to back down from a fight just because of a bad dream or an omen, he would be seen as weak, and if he were weak, Rome would be weak. So Caesar did not march to his death due to arrogance, he marched there knowing full well he may not come out, but he had to stay strong, for Rome! And tell me, how would you feel about a man who died for your country, for everyone including you, you would see him as a hero, would you not?

In conclusion, I really do believe that among all the characters in Julius Caesar, Caesar displays by far the most heroic qualities, and that he is a true hero. With the respect of the citizens of Rome, like how superman has the respect of the people of metropolis. With the accomplishment of countless great feats, like how batman has saved Gotham from numerous villains. And with his massive sacrifice for the good of Rome, like how Captain america died fighting for his country. With what Caesar had done in his life, to me it seems like he is the epitome of a

Some consider Marcus Brutus a “tragic hero,” but is he really? In William Shakespeare's intense theatrical work of The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, there are divergent views about the portrayal of Marcus Brutus. Throughout the play he consistently declares himself as a man with the utmost sense of honor, but is often found engaging in multiple activities that question this personal attribute. It is clearly seen in the plot of the story that Brutus is more of a villain than a hero by analyzing his betrayal, some of the actions he took, and his personality.…

Julius Caesar was the first dictator for life and had shaped Rome for ever. Julius Caesar was born on either 12th or 13th of July in 100 BC in Rome to a well known but awfully poor family. Caesar’s life started at 16 when his father, Gaius, died, as a result Julius grew closer to his mother Aurelia. Julius at a young age had an ambition for politics and the idea of becoming apart of the Roman political system grew because of unstable order among the republicans. Caesar took a great step forward towards politics when he married Cornelia a daughter of Sulla a powerful man and dictator in Rome, Sulla had no part in the marriage and forced Caesar to leave or risk losing his property, Julius didn’t back down.…
