“Heroes Reborn – The Extraordinary Among Us” is taking a new turn in its story as one of its major characters is killed off and will not be returning this fall.
During the TCA summer press tour this week, Heroes Reborn creator Tim Kring revealed that Hayden Panettiere’s character will not be coming back for the show’s premiere. Kring explained that Panetierre’s character Claire Bennett died one year before the events in the show took place, according to Cinema Blend.
Heroes Reborn will take a darker turn from its origin story as a terrorist attack has hit Odessa, Texas the year before the events in the NBC show happened. People were special abilities were blamed for the terrorist attack and most of them have either hidden or died, The Wrap relays.

Panettiere had earlier revealed that NBC had not asked her to come back to the show. It would seem that Claire, who has the ability to regenerate, has been the catalyst for what will happen in Heroes Reborn, the report details.
Claire was last seen at the finale episode of Season 4, in which she showed reporters her regenerative abilities by jumping from a ferris wheel. Her decision to expose herself has since affected the lives of the rest of the people with special abilities, and this has pushed Noah to investigate what happened in Odessa.
Meanwhile, some of the original cast members will return for Heroes Reborn, including Greg Grunberg, Masi Oka, Sendhil Ramamurthy, and Cristine Rose. But Kring said the show will feature a new group of people with special abilities every year instead of focusing on the same characters, IGN reports.
“When we went off the air we didn’t know we were going off the air,” IGN quotes Kring. “We left on an absolutely fantastic moment that set everything into motion of what we’re doing

The last step of the hero's journey is the Return. The Return is when the hero is able to come back to the old world with his accomplishments. Sometimes the hero may feel content in the new world and refuse to return to the old world. Although these qualities of an athlete can be eye catching, and adoring for the public, sports writers should expose the other side of the athlete’s life too.
