Malala was a young girl living in Pakistan who was speaking out for women's rights when the Taliban heard of what she was doing. Many threats of harm or death were sent to Malala to dissuade her from continuing. Even though she was receiving threats about injury or death, Malala continued to publicly speak out, fighting for women's rights and education rights and putting her life in danger. Malala was eventually found by the Taliban who shot her. Even after being shot in the head, Malala continues to speak out for women's and education rights. “After the shooting, her incredible recovery and return to school resulted in a global outpouring of support for Malala. On July 12, 2013, her 16th birthday, Malala visited New York and spoke at the United Nations” (Malala Yousafzai - Biographical). Malala continued to pick herself up and keep advocating for women even when the Taliban got in her way. A young girl from SWAT Valley has been able to do extraordinary things because she had courage and did not stop, even when danger stood in her
