A hero has been defined by Webster’s Dictionary as “a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.” Heroes have a very small window for mistakes. You have the power to stop him, but you are one person behind meeting your favorite idol. If you leave to stop the thief, you will forever miss your chance. You know the police won’t catch him in time but also know he only stole $30. Do you miss you chance to see your idol or catch the petty thief who will probably just have to pay a fine? These are the things a hero has to think about all the time. They have obligations to save people. A lot of heroes in comic book have to make a lot of sacrifices for mankind. These characteristics are not prevalent in today’s society. Mankind is more selfish than ever. There is enough food, water and land on earth that no one should be homeless or starved and yet their number is still growing. It wouldn’t matter if people had superhuman powers because they still would think about themselves first. If the majority of mankind with powers fulfilled their heroic obligations as a hero those qualities would be clear now without
