When we think of a hero, Beowulf would definitely be one of the first ones to come to mind due to all his characteristics as one. Beowulf presented excellent hero qualities which reflected the way the people of his time talked about him and their expectations for a true hero. For instance, he killed grendel, which was a huge relief to the people in the villages. Whereas Deadpool displays only some hero like qualities, which not what we entirely expect out of any hero. When we look up to a hero, we expect someone who is always responsible and dependable, unlike Deadpool who is not always someone to depend on.
