Without the consumption of humans the ghoul will experience intense cravings and go crazy until they ultimately die. The people of Tokyo are forced to endure the evil of the ghouls; they fall short against the killer beasts. Fortunately, there is a hero among the population that goes by the name Hideyoshi. He faces the root of evil in Tokyo, and destroys his biggest oppressor: the ghouls. Hide sacrifices his life for the safety of his people and joins the Commission of Counter Ghouls (CCG). The CCG undergo rigorous training and earn a kagune from a ghoul that has died once they are able to handle themselves in combat. Hide demonstrates high levels of intelligence, strength, and good decision making that aids him to be one of the top individuals in the program. That is why he takes it upon himself to help the citizens of Tokyo by keeping them safe and destroying the evil ghouls, and helping Kaneki face the evil ghouls that terrorize him and jeopardize the lives of the humans. Hide did not hesitate to sacrifice himself for the good of humanity, for the world bigger than himself. He is able to overcome obstacles no other human has been required to face. This man is able to show strength and bravery in the battle against the ghouls. His righteousness is justifiable with his kind heart, intelligence, and good decision-making. Throughout the show he able to put feelings aside in order to make the best decisions that will be benefit everyone. Is intelligence maneuvers him through the puzzles he faces in discovering the evil ghouls and aids his combat skills in battle. Hideyoshi is the perfect representation of all of these virtues. He has proven himself to be a hero to the people of Tokyo and to his best friend; he has remained loyal to them both. Hide represents all of these virtues and embraces the goodness that he holds within himself. Additional justification for the hero is added when Hide experiences death. He gives his life to save the life of kaneki, and endures the pain of his injury throughput the battle and until he can bring everyone to safety. This selfless individual demonstrates the characteristics of a hero; He may not have super natural powers,
