The Expedition and my leader
The year was 1516 when I was chosen along with a small group of men for general soldier called Hernando de Soto. My captain (Hernando de Soto) is a native of the impoverished extremadura region of south western spain. My leader is also a man who seeks for glory and riches(conquistador). The reason why I’ve been chosen is to go on an expedition to central america to find silver and gold. How original. Like I said, my leader is a person who seeks for glory and riches. And in his case, he seeks for riches. De Soto was given almost 700 men and 10 ships in order to do this expedition. On April 6, 1538, de Soto decides he wants to make a trip to central america. After we stop in Cuba, we land in Tampa Bay in May 1539.
