I enjoy Ms. Williams's centers, and I genuinely believe they are meaningful, but those seem like a lot to get through every day. Are they not all done each day or are they rotated? I believe that the activities are meaningful and benefit the students, but I think they need sufficient time with each center.

I think it is so important to help students make connections between what they have previously learned in order to build and grow their vocabulary. The kids are making important connections in order to become fluent readers.
I think that this is the strategy I see kids using the most. I even introduce this strategy when I see students struggling with a word. It is just easier to break something down instead of trying to understand as a whole. After, they separate or break the word down, then they can take what they know from previous instruction and sound out the word.
Also, I think the Morphemic Analysis strategy is useful as well, but students need to have knowledge in those types of meanings. For example, they need to understand that astro means start and naut means sailor, or this strategy will be useless to them.
I believe this is a great strategy to use in the classroom because know students are not only practicing becoming more fluent readers speed wise, but they are also practicing the use of expression. This will help them use expression when they are reading independently. This also goes with Prosody. It is an important aspect of becoming a fluent
