The character of Hermione Granger is always one step ahead, whether it’s through her course work or dealing with various situations where Harry and Ron would be clueless without her. Hermione’s character is clearly a characteristic that is seen in Emma Watson herself, who also values education and graduated from Brown University with an English degree (Abramson).
