Hermia Diary

I remember that day Egeus talking to Theseus about my love to Hermia. He told him that he wants Hermia to marry Demetrius and if he refuses, death will be the punishment. I know that Hermia doesn’t love Demetrius. She loves me and I love her. I felt sad for Hermia since her father doesn’t see things in her eyes.

I came up with a plan, a brave plan. It is that we run away from the Athenian law and go to my aunt’s house and get married there. I told Hermia about the plan and she was convinced to come with me. Helena came to us and complained about how Demetrius loves Hermia instead of her. We told Helena it’s ok we are going to run away tonight.

Me and Demetrius fight over who loves Helena the most. Poor Helena thinks we are making fun of her and mocking her. Hermia then shows up and I tell her I don’t love her anymore.

Hermia was very shocked about my actions and gets mad at Helena. Now Hermia wants to fight Helena. Helena is scared and doesn’t want to fight. I hold back Hermia so she doesn’t attack Helena. Helena then runs away and Hermia wonders off too.

Demetrius and I decide to settle things in a duel. We go into the forest to find a place to fight. Our voices started to imitate and we were lost. I then slept in the forest. Theseus and his lords wake me up and I was confused of what has happened in the past day. I explain to Theseus that me and Hermia were gonna run away and get married.

Egeus still wants Demetrius to marry Hermia but Theseus tells him that Hermia and I can get married. Demetrius also loves Helena and everything is fixed. Theseus says that we can can all have the same wedding since he will marry Hippolyta. We all get married and watch the silly play “Pyramus and
