Holmes life started in 1861 when he was born in New Hampshire. He went to college at University of Michigan and graduated June 1884. A few years later he moved to Chicago and started working in a pharmacy. After the owner mysteriously disappeared he started building his “murder castle” and opened it in 1893. He killed at least 100 people in his horrible hotel. He tortured his victims, who were mostly female, before he killed them. In 1894 he was arrested. Later in 1896 he was hanged for all that he had done. Holmes behavior was extremely disturbing. From an early age he was very manipulative. When he was an adult he used this to help him in his crimes. He was also obsessive, mostly about death. His behavior when he killed was terrifying, he would torture his victims by trapping them in rooms that had gases leaking in so he could asphyxiate them. He was physically and mentally abused by both of his parents. He also had to deal with bullies at school. After the bullies forced him to stare at a skelton and held the hands over his eyes he became comfortable with the idea of anatomy and death. This is when he started showing signs of psychopathic behavior. He started killing animals and became obsessed with death. Some things that may have been signs in his childhood is that he was bullied terribly and was abused. He was also very manipulative and he was also a compulsive liar. Holmes also killed animals to satisfy his need to kill. In his adult life he did graduate high school and he graduated from the university of Michigan. In his life Holmes actually had 3 wives, Clara A. Lovering, Mytra Z. Belknap, and Georgiana Yoke, but he never divorced any of them. He had two children, Lucy Theodate Holmes and Robert Lovering Mudgett. He later moved to Chicago and started working in a pharmacy that he later built his murder castle on. He lured people in by offering jobs. He also had many fiancé's but they all mysteriously disappeared. After killing about 200 people Holmes was finally arrested and
