Hereditary Hemochromatosis is a genetic Disease, which in short term is known as HH. Even if Hereditary Hemochromatosis is a genetic disorder, it’s a disease that can be treated easily. HH is a Disease that has a change in the way that our body works to regulate iron absorption. Iron is an important component in our body, which is required by all cells. Normally the required iron for the cells goes from the food via intestine and when the body finish absorbing the amount iron that the body need our body automatically reduces its absorption to avoid excessive accumulation. The most common symptoms are fatigue, joint pain, impotence, low sex drive and abdominal pain; these are the classic symptom, which occurs most of the time with HH disease.
If the HH disease not cured in a early stage it would process into other diseases which could lead to life threating for example liver diseases, this includes enlargement in the liver, liver failure to function, much more serious liver cancer, there are many more chronic disease which it can lead to also such as diabetic, so therefore getting an early treatment would reduce the disease from progressing into others.

This treatment can be quiet painful as a patient would spend a lot of time coming to hospital because on the process of this treatment blood from the body would be removed every two week to remove the excessive iron and the treatment would be regular basic so the patient would be visiting hospital regularly. Only at the start the patient would need it every two weeks as he progresses into the treatment it would change from twice a week to six times a year. Phlebotomy is the only cheapest and the simplest way of treating the HH disease even though there is other treatment. Patient can be treated through medication but it’s more expensive and has side effect. The side effect are similar to patient experiencing flu so regular fever, weight loss and diarrhoea.
People who has the Hereditary Hemochromatosis should avoid any supplement that they take such as Vitamin C, alcohol or any other iron supplement, this is done in order to stop the iron absorbed because the body already absorbing excessive amount and taking the supplement would Double the excessive amount which would progress the disease to advance quick than
