Hercules Twelfth Labor

Hercules has returned to King Eurystheus with Cerberus after completing his twelfth labor. He is exhausted, but the King, who is hiding in his urn, gives Hercules one more labor Hercules finds out he must trick the Merdra into giving him a valuable pearl. The Merdra is a seven headed creature that lives in the depth of the Mediterranean Sea. It is hard to defeat Because no mortal weapon can pierce her thick scales. It also lives so deep in the ocean that no human being can hold their breath long enough to get to her cave. The Merdra lures her victims down to her cave where they drown, by using her voice to trick the sailors into thinking their family members are drowning. After, receiving this task, Hercules heads to the Harbor and sets out on his boat, toward the middle of the sea.
After 3 weeks of sailing Hercules arrives above the Merdras under water cave. Hercules takes a deep breath before heading down to the cave. Hercules decides to wait silently next to the cave and wait for the Merdra to come out.The Merdra, who was sleeping at the time, did not know that Hercules was waiting just outside of her cave. Quick as a flash, Hercules drops the net on the Merdra. Caught by surprise, the Merdra is flailing and thrashing wildly in the net. While it's distracted, Hercules seizes this moment to shoot the Hydra's poisoned arrows into each of the Merdras heads. Silence, the Merdra is dead.
Hercules treks into the cave, through the now murky water and grabs the giant pearl off its diamond stand, using his great strength.
Hercules sails back to Mycenae and returns to King Eurystheus with the giant pearl " Very well my cousin. You are free to go," King Eurystheus sighs when he receives the pearl from inside his giant urn. In honor of atoning for his sins and completing his thirteen task, Zeus gives Hercules the gift of immortality. Hercules moves to Mount Olympus never to be bothered by Hera
