A true hero isn’t measured by the size of his strength, but the strength of his heart. Hercules, a son of gods, was snatched as a baby by Hades and forced to live among mortals as a half-man, half-god. Now he is a teenager and needs to perform a rite of passage on Earth to prove himself worthy of living with the gods on Mount Olympus. With his sidekick, Philoctetes along for the ride, Hercules must learn how to use his strength to defeat a series of evil creatures. There are 3 phases in this hero's journey the departure, the initiation, and the last phase is the return.
The first phase of a hero’s journey is the departure phase. In the departure phase the hero finds out that he is not the same as other people. In the movie Hercules Hercules …show more content…
The first part of the initiation phase is entering the unknown. Hercules went to the island of thebes so that he can be a god again. The next part in the initiation phase is a supernatural aid or talisman. Hercules talisman is pegasus because he helps him throughout his whole journey. The last part in the initiation phase is test and supreme ordeal. Hercules had a lot of test throughout his whole journey. Training was a big test for him and so was battling the titans at the end of the movie. Those are the parts of the initiation phase.
The third and final phase in a hero’s journey is the return. The first part of the final phase is the reward and journey home. Hercules reward is the he get to become a god again and meg is still alive. The last part of the return phase is master of two worlds and restoring the world they’ve returned to. In Hercules he got to return to Olympus but decides he wants to stay with Meg. Those are the parts to the return phase.
In the movie Hercules he was always different from everyone in his town. He found out he was actually a god and went on a journey to become a god again. Throughout his journey he had a few allies to help him, but he was tested all the way. The departure, the initiation, and the return are the 3 phases to a hero's
