His role was to train himself to become a hero, so that he could return to his home in the sky, Olympus. He went about his young adult life training his body and preparing himself to defeat monsters and beasts, in favor of common citizens. He spent years saving lives attempting to prove himself a hero, in hopes that he could return home. It was not until the near end of the movie when his advantage was eventually withdrawn from him, leaving him to prove himself without his godlike strength. Hercules proves himself a hero and is able to return home, however he does this without his strength. This is significant because what made Hercules a hero, was not his gift of physical strength. Ordinary people every day, make acts of moral courage. Having moral courage can surely mean sticking up for that picked on kid in front of all of your peers, or it could be a simple act, such as choosing not to litter. Having moral courage is key to being happy. The website HelpScout.net states the statisic, “It takes 12 positive experiences to make up for one negative experience.” This means that by having moral courage, you are making yourself a happier person. Having moral courage means that you are doing small acts of service that not only benefit the common good, but you are making decisions that will not fail to leave you with a content feeling. How do you walk away from an experience knowing that you did a good deed in this corrupt world, with any feeling that is far from good? These kind of experiences are part of living this life, it is part of the creating of ourselves. We can chose to watch the world in action and be a bystander, or you can be a hero. With simple acts correcting the immoral intentions of the world today, it is possible to obtain what society chooses not to focus
