Life for Hercules goes great, until Phil discovers that Meg (who Hercules falls in love with) works for Hades. Now, Phil tries to tell Hercules that Meg is working for Hades, but Hercules doesn’t believe him so they get into a heated argument. Which ends up with Phil leaving. When he does Hades appears with Meg tied up. Hades makes a deal with Hercules. The deal was if Hercules gives up his strength, that he will let nothing happen to her so Hercules accepts. Hercules now loses all of his strength leaving him now fully mortal. Hades lets the creatures out that Hercules has already once beaten. Hercules comes face to face with the Cyclone. The Cyclone begins to beat Hercules up very badly. Even though Hercules is losing the fight, he refuses to give up. After Hercules manages to defeat the Cyclops using his wits, Meg sees a pillar collapsing onto him and, in a moment of selflessness, leaps to push him out of the way. Unfortunately, this means she is crushed by the pillar instead, sustaining huge internal injuries. This breaks Hades' contract, meaning that Hercules regains his strength. When Hercules asks Meg why she would do something so dangerous, she finally admits that she loves him, stating "People always do crazy things... when they're in love". Touched by her equally strong and genuine romantic feelings for him, Hercules promises Meg that she will survive and leaves her in Phil's care while he goes to stop

He endures an incredible exhibition and conquers many trials along the way, all to return home to his family, yet it is still controversial whether or not he is a suitable epic hero. In order to be considered an epic hero in ancient Greek times, one must possess five important qualities. They are: strength, courage, leadership, craftiness, and devotion to home and family. The tale of a hero is one of the most classic of stories, told in various forms throughout the ages. Every hero, classical and modern, has different strengths, weaknesses, and challenges that they demonstrate and face along the way, exhibiting traits that prove them a hero. While there is no doubt that the central figures of the Greek myths of Perseus, Hercules, and Atalanta are all heroes, Hercules, strong both in will and physically, stands as the best example of a classic hero. Heroes are not made without challenges, some of which they face early on in their journey. Hercules and Atalanta meet their first struggle as children, with the goddess Hera sending the former “two great snakes [that] came crawling into the nursery” (Hamilton 228), which Hercules promptly kills, and the latter being “left on a wild mountainside to die of cold and hunger” (Hamilton 246) by her father.…
