There are different variations, but they all have the same outline. Hercules's life was always hard even from birth. Although Hercules had a tough time from the very beginning, he preserved by completing the twelve labors and making it to Mount Olympus.
Hercules is the son of God Zeus and the mortal woman Alcmene. Zeus got Alcmene pregnant while her husband, Amphitryon was away. Hera, who is Zeus's wife was infuriated by this and tried to make if that the baby wasn't born. Alcmene gave birth to the baby and named him Herakles (Romans pronounced Hercules). Hercules means "glorious gift to Hera" in Greek. This angered Hera even more. She sent down snakes down on Hercules to kill him as a baby. Hercules was strong and strangled the snakes, one in each hand.

I am choosing to write about Heracles, otherwise known as Hercules, because he is a fascinating and in my opinion, the greatest Greek hero with an interesting background to him. Heracles is so honorable that he is one of the individuals who sail with Jason as an Argonaut. His original story is concerning the origin of labours, where Heracles undergoes a series of tasks in order to gain immortality, amongst being forgiven for his what he committed during his temporary madness. In the “simplest version”, it is said that Heracles goes mad as Hera brought it on to him and murders his wife Megara, along with his three children that he had with her. He then goes on a purification journey and in all of the versions; only some slightly altered positions…

The tale of a hero is one of the most classic of stories, told in various forms throughout the ages. Every hero, classical and modern, has different strengths, weaknesses, and challenges that they demonstrate and face along the way, exhibiting traits that prove them a hero. While there is no doubt that the central figures of the Greek myths of Perseus, Hercules, and Atalanta are all heroes, Hercules, strong both in will and physically, stands as the best example of a classic hero. Heroes are not made without challenges, some of which they face early on in their journey. Hercules and Atalanta meet their first struggle as children, with the goddess Hera sending the former “two great snakes [that] came crawling into the nursery” (Hamilton 228), which Hercules promptly kills, and the latter being “left on a wild mountainside to die of cold and hunger” (Hamilton 246) by her father.…
