Herbal Medicine is also called Botanical medicine or Phytomedicine, that refers to using a plant’s root, seed, leaves, or flower for Medicinal purposes. Herbal medicine is used to treat many conditions such as allergies, migraine, chronic fatigue etc.
Practitioners often combine herbs together to make it more effective. When recommending herbs, health care providers must always be careful. There are a variety of species of plant with such different habitat, and how it was stored or processed, could be harmful.
Herbalists are people who dedicate their lives to working with medicinal plants. Herbalists includes, native healers, acupuncturists, naturopaths, medicine makers, wild crafters, herbal farmers etc.

It can be risky finding your own herbs and doing your harm by self-dosing. It can be inappropriate for many conditions. Modern medicine deals with sudden and serious illnesses and can affect faster. For example, herbalists would not be able to treat broken leg, heal appendicitis, or heart attack as conventional doctors who uses modern diagnostic test, surgery and drugs. Some more cons would be lack of regulation and that you are also at poison risk especially if you are associating with wild herbs.
