The Lernean Hydra was a nine-headed snake, that when one head was cut off, two more would grow in its place. With the help of Iolaus, the growing of new heads was prevented because they cauterized each decapitated neck.

The daughters of Titan Atlas were Hesperides. They were nymphs of the far west and tended a tree that bore golden apples. Herakles slayed the dragon guarding the tree and stole the
