Heraclitus Research Paper

Heraclitus’ lived around 500 BCE. He was said to be the son of wealthy aristocrat who later gave it all up to his brother because it was not the life he wanted to have. Heraclitus was known as the ‘the riddler’ because most of his teachings were obscure. This included the famous saying, “you are never able to step in the same river twice.” Heraclitus was right about this statement, it is impossible to step into the same river twice because the river is always moving. Therefore, the water is always moving and changing so it is impossible to step in the same river twice. The perfect example of unity of opposites is salt water because it is both pure and polluted. The ocean for humans is filled with garbage and all sorts of toxic things that would be detrimental for humans if we tried to sustain ourselves on it.
