Hera used the fact that Zeus treated other gods really harsh to get them on her side and join her revolt. Hera punished Hercules throughout his life, she tried did things to try and kill him but he was so strong. She drove him insane, causing him to kill his own wife and children. Once, when she raised a storm against Hercules’ ship so Zeus hung her from Mount Olympus by her wrists, with anvils attached to her feet.
Another of her victims was Io, a Greek princess that Zeus cheated on her with. Hera suspected Zeus had a new lover and went searching for him. Zeus turned Io into a white calf to keep her safe from Hera. Later on when she found Zeus she asked for the calf as a present, and he couldn’t deny. So then Zeus would visit her nut later on Hera agreed to turn her back into a women.
Semele, a mortal woman who gave birth to Zeus’s son Dionysus, was another one of her victims. Hera suggested to Semele that she asked her lover to appear in his full glory. Zeus, who had a promised to grant Semele any wish, sadly did so and appeared with his thunderbolts, causing Semele to burn to death.
