Her sacred animals are the peacock and the cow. The peacocks were a symbol of pride, and the cow meant “big eyes.” Which means that she knew and heard everything about everyone. That basically means she is telling everyone she knows, so BEWARE!!! The peacock means pride. It means pride because she has been through alot with her husband Zeus. Which means that she still has pride even though he has made her look like a fool and mess around with other women. Once she found out she still was strong about it all but she took revenge on them. Zeus is supposed to love her more no matter what. But, even though he has done all that she has remained strong and still had very, very much pride about everything. She did not let no one hurt her or step all over her. She was the queen of all gods. She is very powerful. So, no one would hurt her and if they did betray her she would easily get revenge because she was a very vengeful woman. Also Hera’s colors are white, royal blue, purple, rose, dark green, silver, and grey.

An interesting myth about Hera is Zeus initially courted Hera. But after many unsuccessful attempts, he resorted to trickery. He took feathers from a bird, and Hera feeling sorry for it she went to it and took care of it. She kept it warm by holding it to her breast. Zeus then resumed his normal form and taking advantage of Hera’s surprise, he raped her.

Zeus knew how egregious of a consequence this was since women could not inherit the assets, only a son. He knew that this would mean after a man’s death, his distant relatives would decide what would happen to his estates and assets and no man ever wanted that.
