Would you be full of envy if someone were unfaithful to you? Hera, brother and wife of Zeus was known for her jealously of her husband partners and their children. She often turned to revenge to get even.
Hera, the goddess of marriage and childbirth wanted to look over married women. She wished women were not treated the way Zeus treated her. He committed adultery with many other women while being married to Hera and never truly loved her. Hera was always faithful to Zeus. She also was the queen of Olympian gods, running over heaven and earth. Often referred to as the “queen of heaven”. She had power over the skies and could give the people clear skies or give them storms. She was born from the titans Kronos and Rhea. Her siblings include Poseidon, Hades, Demeter, Hestia, and Zeus. When she was born Kronos swallowed her, afraid he would be dethroned. Zeus saved her. Later on Hera and Zeus with help from their other brothers and sisters dethroned Kronos.

Feeling sorry for the cuckoo, she held it close to her. She did not know that Zeus turned himself into the bird. When she held it, he turned back to normal and sexually assaulted her. Out of embarrassment, Hera married Zeus. She also turned Lo, one of Zeus’s other partners into a cow because she was angry at her for having an affair with her husband.
