The objective of this published research is to explore how host-targeted antiviral agents, specifically cyclophilin A (CypA) inhibitors, serve as a more effective and safer treatment option for the Hepatitis C virus (HCV). The current available treatment options for this virus have many toxic properties and the virus is now developing a strong drug resistance against the commonly used agents. This virus is deadly, as it is the major cause of end-stage liver disease, so the development of new treatment options is highly needed.

Through the use of virtual screening, the bis-amide derivative was discovered, which is the key component is creating this new treatment option. Through this derivative, many bis-amide compounds were synthesized and
